I’m generally a pretty healthy guy. I don’t always eat perfectly or exercise much, but God has blessed me with a strong immune system I suppose. I rarely catch the cold or flu that “everyone is getting” in spite of the exposure. But once in a rare while, some little malady will sneak in, and I will find myself sick as a dog
It happens a lot the same way with my health balance between ministry and family. I am blessed with a wonderful church and ministry load that allows some flexibility where many days I can take my boys to school, pick them up, and even occasionally get home in time to whip up some supper. It is overall pretty healthy. But every once in a while, out of no where, too many evenings running or office time gets in the way, and things get real unhealthy really fast.
Like physical health, you have to pay attention to things, your body’s needs and your family’s needs. Get regular rest and regular family time. Have some good food and good fun with the family. Don’t take your health for granted. It is a blessing from God, and so is your family.
